The Chisholme Institute Staff

All who serve at Chisholme, from the Principal to the Kitchen Assistant, are considered to be students of the School, and are asked to participate fully in its education, whether or not they are taking part in a course.

Staff appointments, with the exception of the Principal, are on a temporary and mostly voluntary basis and members of staff often make a contribution to their keep were possible.

The Principal is appointed by the Board of Directors of the Chisholme Institute. The other staff are appointed by the Principal and approved by the Board of Directors.

Principal – Peter Young
He studied Archaeology and Anthropology at Cambridge, and later read Ottoman Turkish at Oxford. He worked as a psychiatric nurse and for a time ran his own building company. He has been involved with Beshara since 1974, as a student of the first six-month Course in 1975 and since 1984 has served as Principal of the Beshara School. He has published articles and given papers on the subject of the Unity of Existence, as well as lecturing and supervising courses internationally for the Beshara School. He is married and has four children and currently four grandchildren.

Building Maintenance - Geoff Flowers
Geoff Flowers worked as civil engineer on highways in Britain and the Middle East. In the summer he is a keen motorcyclist, and lives with his wife Jili and dog Mollie in Lottie's Cottage on the estate.

Estate – Ben Young
Ben is a qualified dry-stone dyker, tree surgeon and countryside manager. He lives at Chisholme with his wife Laura and daughters Freya and Islay.
