The Beshara Trust Privacy Policy

May 2018

The Beshara Trust is committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our website and subscribers to our newsletter. Here you’ll find information on how we treat data that we collect from visitors to our website, or when someone subscribes to our newsletter.

Who we are

The Beshara Trust is a charitable UK Trust and is registered with the Charity Commission (England & Wales: 296769; Scotland: SC039933) and with Companies House (02126693).

Registered address: 6 Warden Lodge, Winchester Road, Bishop’s Waltham, Southampton, SO32 1NT.

The charity is managed by a committee of Trustees, who also publish Beshara Magazine, a free online magazine. There is a separate working group, some of whom are Trustees, who manage the writing and publishing of the Magazine and report regularly to the committee of Trustees.

The charity is entirely run by volunteers and funded by regular donations and single gifts and is responsible for the collection of Gift Aid from HMRC.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Collecting Information is critical to communicating an effective service to those people interested in the events and courses run by the Beshara Trust and links with associated organisations and several overseas groups who are listed and updated on the Beshara website.

The Beshara Trust uses third party services such as Paypal and Eventbrite when a donation is made. Personal details including name, address and electronic contact details are held securely through limited Trustee access and password protection for all vital resource documents.

The data that the Beshara Trust is given access to by social media services will vary but will be in line with the terms of that particular service.

Information is provided to the Charity Commission and HMRC regarding Gift Aid for legal purposes.

Personal information is never shared with other organisations or charities for marketing purposes. Information will be securely deleted after twelve months unless there is a continuing online subscription to Trust newsletters and magazine articles.
