Ibn ‘Arabi Study Day

May 25, 2019 (11am–5pm)
The October Gallery, 24 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AL

A day of study of the chapter on ‘The Wisdom of Beneficence in the Word of Loqman’ from Ibn ‘Arabi’s Fusus al-Hikam (The Bezels of Wisdom).

Event Description

This is the latest in a series of meetings comprising study and discussion of the work of the great spiritual teacher, Muhyiddin Ibn ‘Arabi. The aim of our study is to nurture a sentiment for self-knowledge, rather than for any academic benefit.

No previous knowledge of Ibn ‘Arabi’s writings is needed. The study is designed for both new and long-term students.

In this meeting we shall read from the chapter on The Wisdom of Beneficence in the Word of Loqman from Ibn ‘Arabi’s seminal work, Fusus al-Hikam, “…the quintessence of his spiritual teaching”. We shall be using the incomparable translation of Bulent Rauf with commentary.

Please note the early start: we are starting at 11am so that we can read the whole chapter without time pressure. A light lunch will be provided.
