The October Gallery, 24 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AL
An afternoon seminar studying the chapter on ‘The Wisdom of Being in the Word of David’ from Ibn ‘Arabi’s Fusus al-Hikam (The Bezels of Wisdom).
Event Description
‘Remember Our servant David, a man of strength who always turned to Us: We made the mountains join him in glorifying Us at sunset and sunrise; and the birds, too, in flocks, all echoed his praise.’
The Qur’an, Chapter 38:18
This is the another of our afternoons comprising study and discussion of the work of the great spiritual teacher, Muhyiddin Ibn ‘Arabi. The aim of our study is to nurture a sentiment for self-knowledge, rather than for any academic benefit.
No previous knowledge of Ibn ‘Arabi’s writings is needed. The seminar is designed for both new and long-term students.
In this seminar we shall study the chapter on The Wisdom of Being in the Word of David from Ibn ‘Arabi’s seminal work, Fusus al-Hikam, “…the quintessence of his spiritual teaching”. We shall be using the translation of Bulent Rauf and other related writings.
