Course Description
The Ultimate Reality is one and the same, whatever we choose to call It – if indeed It has a name. Spiritual Ways differ in describing how It relates to the World and to the individual self. In formulating these descriptions, metaphysics conveys the unique nature of a spiritual path, and provides the framework for a seeker’s striving.
A key feature of Ibn ‘Arabi‘s metaphysics is the frequent use of contradictory complements to describe realities inaccessible to the intellect, and to convey a taste of such realities to the heart.
In this seminar we shall explore these matters in relation to the metaphysics of Ibn ‘Arabi as presented in his masterwork, The Fusus al-Hikam.
Avi Abadi has been a student of the work of Muhyiddin Ibn ‘Arabi for many years and has directed courses at the Beshara School at the Chisholme Institute in the Scottish Borders.
