Course Description

Bulent Rauf, who was born of Ottoman background in Istanbul in 1911, was devoted to the love of God and perfectibility of the human being as brought out by the 12th century Andalusian mystical philosopher, Muhyiddin Ibn ‘Arabi. He guided the establishment of the Beshara Trust in 1971 and was the consultant to the Beshara School of Intensive Esoteric Education from its beginning in 1975. He was also the co-founder and first President of the Muhyiddin Ibn ‘Arabi Society. In these capacities he was, due to his great generosity, in constant interaction with students of ‘Arabi. One result of these relationships is a rich collection of letters, many of which were preserved and recently published in Letters.

This on-going group (which has already read from Niffari and Uftade) will meet to read and learn from these letters, not to reminisce about the person of Bulent Rauf. He was not a teacher or shaykh or guru, but was always delighted to share his inestimable knowledge and care, as is evidenced by this book.

Participants will be expected to buy the book .

The group meets at 6pm Saturday evenings US CDT time, and 11am Sunday mornings Australian time and is made up of people from North America and Australia.
