The Voyages of Moses (1 of 3)

Saturday September 10, 2016

A study afternoon in London focusing on The Voyage of the Divine Appointment of Moses and The Voyage of Good Pleasure in Secrets of Voyaging, by Muhyiddin Ibn ‘Arabi.

The Six Voyages of Moses

The Beshara Trust presents three afternoon sessions to study the six Voyages of Moses from the remarkable work Kitab al-Isfār ʿan natāʾij al-asfār of Ibn ‘Arabi, newly translated last year by Angela Jaffray, under the title Secrets of Voyaging (Anqa Publications).

In this work ‘Arabi addresses the human spiritual quest in its most essential aspects. Last autumn and spring we arranged some study-days on the first part of the book. They attracted an enthusiastic and dedicated group.

We now take pleasure in completing the Voyages with three afternoon study sessions held from September to November on the six Voyages of Moses. There is no need to have participated in the earlier study-days.

The primary aim of the study is not academic, historical or cultural but to explore our understanding of ourselves and our orientation to Reality by sitting at the feet of Ibn ‘Arabi, one of the greatest spiritual teachers. The medium of study is free conversation and meditation, directed by the text.

The study is intense, and the number of places will accordingly be limited to 18. Participants are encouraged to buy the book although photocopies of each section under consideration will be available on the day.

Booking & Fees

Bookings via Eventbrite here: http://sovmoses.eventbrite.co.uk . Each session costs £15 + booking fee, including refreshments.
