Event description
Why are young people lonelier than ever and what can be done about it?
An event for everybody who is concerned with this question.
An afternoon of reflection led by Sam Fardghassemi, a young researcher whose primary concern is investigating this important question.
Loneliness has become a major public health challenge and young people are the most vulnerable demographic to suffer from it in the UK and other Western countries in recent times. This interactive presentation will discuss findings from research with young people from the UK about their experiences and the subjective causes of their loneliness. It will also put forward possible solutions that can help lessen or tackle loneliness in young people based on the researcher’s investigations, as well as his own observations and study of psychology and wisdom traditions.
Join us for this interactive session as we delve into this important issue, which remains hugely unresolved despite the age of hyperconnectivity.
Sam is co-facilitating our forthcoming Young Persons’ course.
